Interlude Kitchen to Fill Former Macaroni Grill Site

The former home of Macaroni Grill in the Laguna Gateway on Laguna Boulevard has a new tenant.
The concept, dubbed Interlude Kitchen and Bar, comes from Allen Kou and Won Trinh, who have operated Sacramento’s Prelude Kitchen & Bar and Zinfandel Grille since 2021. The menu at the new approximately 7,400-square-foot space in Elk Grove is likely to be similar; Tom Patterson, who currently leads the kitchen at the pair’s downtown restaurant, is slated to be lead chef.
The news was first reported by the Sacramento Business Journal.
Elk Grove Subaru Purchased by Lithia & Driveway
The Elk Grove Subaru car dealership in the Elk Grove Auto Mall is changing hands.
According to a news release issued on March 4, the dealership will join the third largest automotive dealership group in the United States, Lithia & Driveway, which is headquartered in Medford, Ore.
“We are excited to welcome the talented team at Elk Grove Subaru to the Lithia and Driveway team,” Lithia & Driveway President and CEO said in a news release. “This addition strengthens our presence in the Southwest region and continues our strategy of expanding our network with high-performing partners like Subaru.
“We look forward to continuing the store’s legacy of building customer loyalty and leveraging our omnichannel capabilities to realize Elk Grove's potential.”
Phenom Shoes Returns to Elk Grove
Sneaker retailers Phenom announced it has reopened its Elk Grove location in an Instagram post in late February.
The Elk Grove location originally opened in 2012 but closed in 2023 to relocate to downtown Sacramento.
The Minnesota-based shoe seller, which has become a particular favorite amongst sneakerheads, is located at 9015 Bruceville Road and specializes in the latest shoe wear fashions and styles in addition to clothing.
“We are excited to announce the reopening of our Elk Grove location,” the store wrote on its Instagram account.
Phenom is open daily 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
