Road Closures Announced for Elk Grove's 14th Annual Running of the Elk

The event, which includes a half marathon, 10K, 5K, and Kids' Fun Runs, will kick off at District56..
The race will cause temporary road closures beginning early Sunday morning, with most closures lasting until late morning. Officials are advising motorists to plan ahead and use alternate routes.
Major closures will take place between 7 a.m. and noon and include:
• Civic Center Drive between Big Horn Boulevard and Laguna Springs Drive.
• Northbound Big Horn Boulevard from Whitelock Parkway to Lotz Parkway from.
• Laguna Springs Drive and surrounding roads, including Auto Passage Drive, Wolfpack Lane, and Lotz Parkway.
• Auto Center Drive and Elk Grove Auto Mall.
• Northbound Promenade Parkway from Kyler Road to Laguna Grove Drive from.
City officials recommend that north-south travelers use Bruceville Road and east-west travelers use Elk Grove Boulevard or Kammerer Road during the event.
The Running of the Elk benefits the Elk Grove Youth Sports Foundation, which provides financial assistance to local youth athletes. Organizers expect thousands of participants and spectators, making early planning essential for residents and commuters.
