Hey, 49ers Faithful. Meet Mark Purdy—the retired San Jose Mercury Newspaper sports columnist who reported on the 49ers for 40 years and recently released a stunning book, "The San Francisco 49ers: An Illustrated Timeline." Purdy’s text gives the whole history of the franchise and every relevant photo you can imagine.

A local book signing event on February 1 will allow fans to share memories and hear stories from a journalist who covered the 49ers for over 30 years. During his career, Mark was honored by the Associated Press and the Wall Street Journal for writing one of America’s top 10 sports columns. He covered 32 Super Bowls and more than 300 NFL games and is eager to meet and greet any 49er Faithful and talk football at one of the Sacramento area's best independent bookstores.
